In the fifth installment of FairPlay’s CRA / FYI podcast series, host Abby Hogan, general counsel at FairPlay, spoke with Rebecca Escario, CAMS, managing director at CrossCheck, about proposed changes to the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) rules and their potential implications for financial institutions.
The discussion examined the notice of proposed rulemaking issued by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), including revised asset-size thresholds, the proposed 15% overhead limit on CRA grants, the treatment of deposit access products, and the Federal Reserve’s absence from the proposal.
Rebecca also discussed expanded public access to CRA strategic plans and considerations for banks as they evaluate the proposal and prepare for potential regulatory changes.
